During these last five years almost half of all the correspondence I have received has been from writers who are looking for advice. They want to know how to write books, how to self-publish and how to market their works. Since the need continues to grow for this type of information, I have started a new website with this purpose in mind. www.MyUNeditedLife.com is a treasure trove of Unconventional Wisdom for Aspiring Authors. It is filled with short articles, links to social networking sites and helpful bonus videos. My UNedited Life delivers countless ideas and strategies written to entertain and enlighten. Best of all, the advice is entirely FREE!

My new book Purple State is now available! It won't be in bookstores until September but you can get a copy online right now!

Added here is a sneak preview of the plot and a link to my website.

Do you want to know...

* Why gas prices are so high?
* Why we were attacked on 9/11?
* Why we invaded the wrong country?

These were not accidents. The plot that you have been waiting for has finally been put together and now all you have to do is get the book that tells the whole story!

This explores the questions that everyone is talking about and you could have the answers.

Another great bonus is that the book is only $12. I really hope you will get a copy.

Enjoy, Alex Hutchinson

The search for a new publisher is so tedious. I often wonder if it wouldn't be better to continue to self-publish and reach a wider audience with different promotional ideas. The Publishing community is continuing to live up to its bad reputation.

What I've learned is that you need one of three things to be successful as an author. You need either money, connections or fame. If you start with any of these it's not hard to get noticed. I have none of them and yet my books practically sell themselves.

I guess it's just a matter of pushing forward and having patience.

I have spent four years promoting my books to a variety of audiences but I always had a problem focusing on a select few people. It took a freind to point out that my works are in fact Multi-Genre. My novels fit into the categories of action/adventure, sports, bisexual, poetry, political, horror and drama. Strange that it never occured to me before but it does make sense as to why I can't focus only on one area of the reading audience. So I will continue to reach out to everyone who loves to read.

I have a ton of profiles on other sites that I use to meet people and promote my books but here I wanted to do something different. I'm in the process of writing a novel and on this site I will make little posts about it's progress. This will include writing tricks, thoughts on structure and details, length and whatever comes up. If anyone wants to read along, comment or ask questions, feel free to do so. I welcome your ideas.

Some might say that I'm sadly addicted to Halo 3 but I need a way to relax. Shooting your friends is invigorating compared to the five hours a day I spend reading, writing and researching for the new novel that I'm writing. Don't get me wrong, I love to write and this seventh book will be my greatest accomplishment but damn! My back needs stretching from countless hours on the stool or couch and my eyes need movement. Exercise once a day (Or twice) is helpful, sex would be a better reprieve but my GF works alot. So, I pick up a virtual gun and shoot some deserved enemies. My handle is SuburbanFiction in case you happen to like the same. Alex Hutchinson.
